The Perfect Church for People Who Aren't

Voyage FAQ’s

You may be asking yourself what you’ll encounter if you decide to be our guest at one of our worship celebration services. We’ve designed this page in an attempt to answer some of the more common questions you may have.

Do I have to stand up in front of people?

Some churches, with good intentions, ask guests to stand up in front of everyone. While we applaud their desire to know you better, we do things a bit different at Voyage.

We believe you’ll be more comfortable meeting a few people seated around you who are genuinely interested in getting to know you better. Before and during our service, we provide opportunity for people to meet and chat with one another. In that way, genuine friendships can begin through brief conversations.

Do I have to dress up?

Absolutely not! The atmosphere at Voyage is casual and fun, but with reverence for the Lord we worship. When you visit us, you’ll see some people dressed formally, but most will be dressed informally. We care more about you being our guest and feeling comfortable than how you’re dressed.

Do I have to turn my kids over to a stranger?

We offer a fun, exciting program for children and we’re confident your kids would have a great time if they participated. We screen our workers through such means as  interviews and background checks. Your child’s safety is very important to us.

Even so, we certainly understand if you’d prefer to check us out before allowing your child to be away from you in a separate part of the facility. Your children are welcome in our service for as long as makes you comfortable before you decide to let them attend the Voyage Kidz Department.

Are you going to tell me what’s wrong with me?

At its core, the message of Jesus is about good news. He did not come to earth to condemn us. He came to give His life for us so we may have abundant life.

And so, while we feel it’s important to recognize we’ve all fallen short of God’s ideals, it’s necessary to emphasize the joyful and complete life which Jesus offers us.

Our desire is for you to come away from our worship celebration contemplating the reality that we do fall short of God’s ideals but a relationship with Jesus offers satisfaction, fulfillment, joy and purpose in a measure we’ve never known before.

Do you want my money?

In a word, no. The folks who are a regular part of our community voluntarily give to support Voyage Church and the expenses we incur. But we certainly don’t expect guests to give. If you attend as our guest, we won’t expect you to give. You’re our honored guest… please come and enjoy yourself.

In time, if you decide to become a regular part of our community, you may decide you’d like to participate financially. At that time, we’d joyfully welcome your participation. Our desire for you now is simply to be given opportunity to check us out without feeling pressure to give money.

What happens during the service?

Several people will warmly greet you as you enter our campus. A greeter will provide you a program guide to help you navigate the service and opportunities for the week. At our café, we offer coffee, donuts, bagels & more. Please feel free to relax and enjoy the refreshments. As you enter the celebration service, find a seat and location that’s comfortable for you.

At start time, which is currently 10:00 a.m., the band begins some upbeat music. Half-way through the service, we take time to greet each other. The worship time will last 20-25 minutes. Our Pastor will then teach from God’s Word for about 45 minutes, applying Scripture to everyday life. This is followed by a song to reflect on the truths taught. Then, we pass offering bags for our regular attendees participation. Dismissal is accompanied by an upbeat song. On average, the entire service, from beginning to end, lasts approximately 1 hour & 20 minutes.
